Coming Saturday: The 12 Days of Flat Broke Christmas!

13 Nov

Like it or not, the holidays are here.

Even if you don’t celebrate them at all, you’re going to have to deal with them. If you need anything besides groceries, you’re going to have to go to Wal-Mart or the mall. You will then have to dodge all the people lunging like rabid cheetahs from hell — ready to tear apart anyone who may get in the way of that mega-marked-down Wii.

But many who want to celebrate the holidays are likely fretting about how they’re going to pull it off. Don’t dread Santa’s arrival. The Flat Broke Blog is here to help.

Starting this Saturday (Nov. 14) and running through Nov. 25 (the day before Thanksgiving), I’ll be rolling out “The 12 Days of Flat Broke Christmas”. You’ll have your guide from this Queen of Cheap just in time for Black Friday.

This isn’t your typical “Gift Giving Guide” you see in magazines. I’m not only going to suggest gifts, but I’m also going to show you techniques on how to save money while you dodge the women screaming, scratching and pulling hair over that last Elmo doll. The emphasis will be on PRACTICALITY, as well as frugality. As I’ve mentioned before, you don’t want to totally waste your money on a gift someone will absolutely hate.

Maybe this Christmas won’t be one straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. That doesn’t mean you must have a “Blue Christmas.”

Just as a side note, I’m not skipping holidays.

Yes, I will have The 12 Days of Flat Broke Christmas before Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten Turkey Day. I’ll be featuring some cheap recipes from the Flat Broke Kitchen and strategies for smarter Thanksgiving grocery shopping as we all prepare to watch the massive Garfield, SpongeBob or whatever crazy balloons float through New York.
